Hull Stress and Breakup Study

FEM model Finite Element Analysis mathematically models the structure of the ship and seeks to predict what happens to it under loads and stresses. An interactive computer program lets you scroll through this process.
surface breaking Once the loads and stresses reach a critical stage, the structure loses buoyancy and begins to breakup.
underwater breaking The ship begins to break apart at the water line. The bow and stern separate just below the surface.
